Specifications
Performance
The high displacement 3.4L V6 powerhead delivers unmatched levels of speed, acceleration, torque, and overall performance at these horsepower nodes – all on 87 octane.
Versatility
Weighing in at just 475lbs, the 150R is just 20lbs heavier than the Mercury 150, making it the second lightest 150 on the market, ideal for a multitude of applications and boat types.
Intuitive
Both V6 Mercury Racing engines are offered exclusively with Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) coupled with the simple maintenance, rugged reliability, and ease of ownership that make a Mercury product.
Proven
The 150R and 200R are both derived from the mainline V6 175, 200, and 225hp engines; with extensive parts commonality, expect ease of service, rugged durability, and unmatched reliability.
Specifications
Short Intake Runner
Racing variants are equipped with short intake runners that allow air to reach the cylinders more quickly with less resistance, improving airflow at higher engine speeds. This moves the powerband higher in the rpm range for extreme high-speed applications.
Stiffer Engine Mounts
Stiffer engine mounts ensure enhanced performance, stability and handling at speeds exceeding 100mph, while still offering reducing excess vibration that wouldn’t be possible with solid mounts.
Rear Tie Bar Option
Mercury Racing outboards offer rear tie bar options for high-speed multi-engine setups. Rear tie bars provide enhanced stability, engine synchronization and tracking, plus the ability to fine-tune toe adjustments.
Sport Master Gearcase
Mercury utilizes 3 gearcases on the V8R: the 5.44 HD and Torque Master (TM), found on mainline engines, and the race exclusive surface piercing/surfacing Sport Master (SM), designed specifically for boats capable of exceeding 85mph.
V8 Platform
The 250R and 300R share most parts and specifications with the CMS V8 models.
Specifications
